Well, the dynamo behind CrossFit Rising has been found to be mortal. Yes, The Mighty Goat is sick. He is so sick he is fully clothed under the covers in bed, shivering. (Quick jakers, this is your chance to do a heavy deadlift workout and put Goat behind you!) He's got a slight fever, chills, body aches and has lost all sense of humor. He did NOT like my impression of George Jefferson this morning ("C'mon Weezy! Wake up!" as I danced all around his body lying stiffly in bed)
I've been tending to him since I came home (well, post WOD- DL work set of 190 x 5; then post grocery shopping) Herbs and such are my lil hobby, so I've been more than happy puttering in the kitchen's vitamin cabinet (we don't have a medicine cabinet). On his convalescence menu is Breathe Easy tea with lots of honey, oregano capsules, and a chopped up pear (pears have a substance that helps with sore throats FYI) Also cups of warm water with fresh lemon squeezed in.
I think CrossFitters by nature tend to look for herbal and/or natural remedies. As this is my hobby, I'm more than happy to answer any questions you have re: supplements. Shoot me an email or just post right here. Right here right now, huge annoying disclaimer- I AM NOT A DOCTOR. Do not stop taking medicine your doctor prescribed because Strong Lil Pony said taking ginger caps will help take care of your GERD (although it will, as will drinking aloe vera juice)
Oh, and I didn't *really* jump around on the bed this morning. But I *do* jump on the bed first thing when I check into a hotel room.
Really.
