Bill came in talking about how much his hips hurt, we couldn't "do legs" today, blah blah, yadda yadda. Naturally, if we had scheduled 400m of walking lunges for today, he would have complained about it, then done his best to complete it. Luckily for him we didn't.

Joe finished up his fundamentals class with this:
A.M.R.A.P. in 15 minutes:
5 pull-ups (black band)
10 box jumps (12")
15 sit-ups (ab-mat, anchored)
7 rounds + 5+10+1 sit-up
With the intensity he brings, it won't be long before he is making Goat look like a sissy.
Today marked the first day back in the saddle after a self diagnosed case of serious overtraining. If it even crosses my mind that I am overtraining, it means that I am. When others (gee, who would that be?) point it out, and I become defensive (read: bitchy) that means I definitely am. I rested for an unheard of TWELVE days. The scary thing is that I did not miss working out - not one bit! Two massages, almost daily foam rolling sessions and loads of sleep later, I feel great.
After doing with Mark's Oly Warm-Up, I decided to modify a main site workout from a few weeks back
3 Rounds for time:
Row 500m/ 65# Power Clean x 12/65# Thrusters x 15
I wanted to break 20:00.
She shoots, she scores!! 19:37 And what's even better is that I am NOT wheezing. I feel so good about today's workout, dancing right around my threshold for asthma. It's tough, because the slightest push too far sends me off beyond recovery, but on days like today when I go just hard enough without redlining, it feels GREAT. Ok, I'm lying a tiny bit. There is a slight whistle upon deep inspiration, but I can live with that.
Now the hard part....staying in this good feeling place!
It's hard to not do so much, to find a balance with working out... when there is so much to fun* to be had out in the gym... getting stronger, getting faster, working on skills like kipping and double unders...
Well, if I'm to be CrossFitting for as long as I think I will, there will be time enough for it all.
